OCU Cafeteria Lobby Wall Wrap

Project Description: Requested by the university’s Advancement Department, the goal was to update the original, outdated design on the wall into a design that best represented the school’s vibrant culture and community. This design was inspired by the geometric qualities of the university’s star-shaped logo. Using a dynamic composition of photographs, triangles, and the university’s brand colors, the design  is meant to bring energy and vibrance to the cafeteria lobby while visually reinforcing the university’s brand identity.

Tools Used: Photoshop, Illustrator

Sketches

The university’s Advancement Department initially requested a graphic that highlighted several campus buildings through the use of geometric shapes and vibrant colors, along with the university’s tagline “We are Oklahoma City’s University.” With this direction in mind, I began exploring different ways to incorporate the buildings while creating a colorful and cohesive composition. These initial sketches helped me experiment with various layouts and visual approaches before moving into the digital design.

Using the initial sketches as a foundation, I translated the concepts into vector artwork to better visualize the final composition. After reviewing the initial proofs, the department opted to remove the tagline and incorporate the OCU logo into the design instead.
